Wynton Marsalis: 22nd Annual Nancy Hanks Lecture on Arts and Public Policy from Americans for the Arts on Vimeo.
Greetings all:
Above is a rare bird and a priceless treasure in the form of a lecture recently given by world renown Jazz artist, composer and music director,Wynton Marsalis, at the Kennedy center entitled "The Ballad of the American Arts." As they say around the way "It don't get no better than this." Wynton's lecture was one of the most powerful talks of all time on jazz and culture. All things jazz. All things American.
He showed a classic knowledge base of music history, a deep understanding of culture and human kind, powerful prolific insights into the connection between jazz and American culture, and a great sense of passion interspersed with proverbial African-American cool.
The aura of his presentation and the response thereto was unbelievable. Worth sitting back with a glass of wine and digging the brother's rap. Beats TV.
Enjoy and pass it on...
